first edition. "A cycle of poems depicting the sad lot of a polygamous Mormon woman"--Flake 3735 (for later editions). Thousands of Mormon converts left Germany for America in the mid-nineteenth century. This anti-Mormon work by a Jewish Austrian woman went through numerous editions, but only one other copy of this unusually formatted first edition is listed on WorldCat, while another is cataloged as erotic literature at the Austrian National Library. A handsome presentation of a significant work.
